As part of Copenhagen 2021, the Human Dignity Trust joined UNIBAM Executive Director, Caleb Orozco, and the Southern Africa Litigation Centre's Research and Advocacy Officer, Anna Mmolai-Chalmers, to look back over the last 10 years of litigation. The panel highlighted the lessons learned to advance decriminalisation in the coming decade, and showcased how litigation is being used to challenge criminalisation across the world. They answer important questions, such as what has worked and what hasn’t, what can be replicated, when to use litigation and when to look to other strategies.

In almost 70 countries there are laws still criminalise LGBT people fuelling stigma, legitimising prejudice and encouraging violence. The Human Dignity Trust exists to change this. Together, we can bring forward the day when no one is criminalised because of who they are or who they love.
