Anushka provides LGBT individuals and organisations with specialist legal support and expertise, as well as helping governments to reform discriminatory legislation.

She specialises in international human rights law and has over a decade of experience in strategic litigation, implementing multi-country regional programmes and advising government bodies to develop national policies on environmental law and the rights of persons with disabilities.

Prior to joining HDT, Anushka worked for Paris – based International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH). In Sri Lanka, she served as the Head of Legal at Environmental Foundation Limited (EFL) – the oldest strategic environmental litigation organisation in the country.

She obtained her LL.M. from the Washington College of Law, American University, where she received the Judge Jerry M. Hermele Award, the Outstanding Research and Writing Award, and the Krauthamer Prize for Disability Law. She received her LL.B. (Hons) from the University of Colombo.
